Survivor: Roxy gets tongues wagging

It was obvious that Roxy needed to be snuffed from Survivor when she exploded with all the "oogy woogy boogy" on Monday night but her tribe shouldn't have eliminated her yet. I was gobsmacked that Russell and Denise didn't whack Angie instead - they're very aware that a couple alliance needs to be destroyed immediately so their vote for Roxy was bizarre.

Either they're even more clueless than I previously thought or she was so jaw droppingly unstable they couldn't cope with her anymore - a highly likely scenario.

Angie and Malcolm (Mangie) are a big problem but Roxy was a huge problem throughout the episode too: her meltdown in the rain, her badly acted "speaking in tongues", the fact that she didn't contribute at camp, her poor performances at challenges and her bad excuses for them. Even though it seemed that Mangie caused the most trouble at camp, Roxy obviously caused much more.

It doesn't mean it was the right move for Denise and Russell to vote her out though - far from it! It was an emotional decision which they can't afford now that Matsang's down to four. They would have had a three-to-one majority if they'd taken Angie out whereas all they have now is Ken and Barbie with added strength. So boring. Such a mistake.

Over at Kalabaw Jonathan also made a huge error of judgement when he pranced off, gloating with his Immunity idol, skipping past Dana as if she was too dense to realise what was going on. Obviously she knows. If she doesn't she needs to be the first to be kicked from the tribe because she shouldn't be on the show.

Also guilty of extremely poor Survivor strategy: lonely Lisa. I continue to favour Tandang and I'm a Lisa fan because of Facts of Life but I fear the distance she's created with everyone will sink her. Not only do I fear it but I know it. Why would you possibly go on a reality show if you don't want to speak to people?? I felt for her when she said she's been alone her whole life but my sympathy didn't last long because she needs to do something about it. She needs to change to survive and she needs to do it pronto.

Kalabaw did seem rather dense while Jonathan was looking for his "contact lens".
Still rooting for Lisa, but she is not making it easy for herself by disengaging. She has been pulling her weight in challenges though.
Mangie seem to be totally clueless about the social implications of their behaviour even if it is innocent. Still Roxy appears to have pissed more people off with her dogmatic ideas and her excuses at the challenge (not having drunk enough water etc).

Does a couple alliance really need to be destroyed immediately?  Yes, Amber won because she was part of a couple, but has anyone else done that since?  Or is it fear of another Romber that has resulted in couples being snuffed out too early to know whether they were in fact a threat?

And is there really that much difference between a couple and two people who are strong allies e.g. a bromance like JT and Stephen had?  It's still two people who are going to vote the same way, and will take each other to the end, so why the emphasis on getting rid of couples?  Is it just that it's more obvious with a couple than a normal two-person alliance?
