MagicWorld.
The DStv channel no-one speaks of because of what a horror it is. It lurks in the dark regions of Channel 162 where no TV-lover dares to go.
The good news is it's being ditched. It breathes its last gasp at the end of this month and will be replaced with a new channel called M-Net Family on Wednesday, 1 July - specifically for the DStv Family bouquet.
It'll be on the Premium, Extra and Compact bouquets too but it's been created to cater to the Family bouquet as a general entertainment channel.
It features series that have been on the M-Net channels with a range of genres structured in a general entertainment set-up. Some of the shows in the starting line-up include soapie musical Nashville, Tyler Perry's The Haves and the Have Nots, America's Got Talent and The Talk (currently on MagicWorld) so it has a mix of dramas, comedies, talk and reality with a telenovela thrown in.
A dubbed Spanish telenovela called Champs will air daily at 17h00. Here's a look at the weekday line-up:
15h30: The Wild
16h00: The Talk
17h00: Champs
18h00: Manhattan Love Story (comedy)
18h30: MasterChef Junior USA
19h30: Dramas and reality: Nashville, The Haves and Nots, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, America's Got Talent, The Night Shift and Red Band Society
The mornings start with a kiddies slot from 07h00 to 08h00 with
Koowee programming - which pops up again in the afternoon from 15h00 to 15h30. Weekends look a lot like
M-Net City with movies at 18h00 on Saturdays and Sundays and series marathons.
