Gosh, Sherri kicked butt on Survivor last night, in her easy-to-style hair and halter neck Tribal outfit.
She established a situation where she's fully in charge of the Fans but without taking any of the heat because it's all coming down on her
lieutenant Shamar. Shell shocked Shamar who spent the episode dodging bullets in between raging and passing out.
Sherri's most effective strategy definitely seems to be understanding and acknowledging where everyone's coming from. It's what made Shamar so happy at Tribal Council - when she said that he felt people had crossed him.
What's so interesting is that I found myself looking to her for clarity on what was happening with everyone else. When things were such a mess with Shamar it was difficult to work out exactly was going on so I kept wanting to hear from her to see how she was perceiving things because I've started trusting her opinion.
Laura's too, with her wide eyed confession of what a terrible swimmer she is. She's got real Survivor smarts too but in a very different way to Sherri. She's clearly weak physically but she's got a lot of social savvy.
I'm warming to the idea of Sherri and Laura teaming up with Shamar as their bodyguard. He's no threat for the win obviously, which makes him a good ally -
if he doesn't descend into total madness.
They've cast the Fans well don't you think? Most of them are very memorable already. I can't remember the name of the creepy beard though and the "pretty people" annoyance who left tonight was so forgettable she was Hopeless.
Bring on the rats next week!
