TV presenter and actor Lungile Radu and DJ Stacey Norman have been signed to headline The Voice SA in the build-up the Blind Auditions which start this Monday (30 November).
Lungile, who is currently the
top rated actor/presenter on TVSA, will be hosting the show and Stacey is the V-Reporter, in charge of engaging with viewers on social media.
Stacey currently hosts a daily radio show on 947 and Lungile has been at the hosting helm of multiple reality shows including Fear Factor SA, SABC2’s It’s For Life, Kasi 101 and Big Brother Mzansi.
At first we rolled our eyes that yet another DJ has been cast as a headliner in a musical reality show but then we discovered that both Stacey and Lungile went through a rigorous audition process so they haven’t been selected because of their professions or previous credits.
They each auditioned for the show through a closed audition process and were put on a short list with other contenders. The list was handed over to M-Net’s research department who tested viewers’ responses to everyone and the two of them came out tops.
This turn of events doesn’t mean that it’s the end of Lungile on Big Brother Mzansi. The Voice starts in January and runs until May so it was looking like there could be a clash but word from Mzansi Magic is that Big Brother Mzansi will only happen mid-year next year,
if it happens. There’s no confirmation on a new season but there isn’t a reason that it shouldn't happen, so we’re sure that it will.
But first there’s a triple bill of other reality shows on the M-Net channels in early 2016. This is what the January schedule looks like:
Idols 12: Auditions for the new season start.
Clash of the Choirs 3: Premieres on Mzansi Magic on Sunday, 10 January at 17h30.
The Voice SA: Premieres on M-Net on Sunday, 31 January 2016.
