New international shows are being released at a rapid rate and it can be challenging keeping up with what's happening now and what's new and what to look out for in the future.
To assist you in navigating the landscape, we've compiled this list of 10 shows that caught our attention at the DStv's first quarterly preview. MultiChoice hosted a two day media event at which they previewed a blitz of shows so we've chosen the 10 that made the biggest impression on us.
Five of them start this month, the other five are on the horizon and they're from a mix of channels. Most start on the Premium bouquet and some will move to Compact after their first screening. We've included links to their trailers so be sure to click them as your browse.

Martin Scorsese's latest TV show, co-created with Rich Cohen and Mick Jagger. It follows the story of Richie Finestra (played by Bobby Canavale), a New York music executive in the late 1970s, as he hustles to make a career out of the city's diverse music scene.
It premiered on Thursday, 18 February so two episodes have aired so far. It runs for 10 episodes and it's available on Catch Up.

He Named Me Malala
On: National Geographic
Broadcast date: Sunday, 6 March 2016 at 20h05
A documentary about Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who at 15 was famously targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan.
The courageous story of this teenager and her supportive father, Zia, reached international headlines and she has since become became an advocate fighting for education for all girls worldwide.
The documentary is filmed by director Davis Guggenheim (Alias, 24, The Shield, Deadwood) and has been scheduled to celebrate International Women's Day on Tuesday, 8 March.
The Jacksons: Next Generation

Premiere date: 16 March at 20h45
An inside look into the lives of the Jackson family. After the death of Michael Jackson, the responsibility of managing the Jackson family legacy fell onto the shoulders of Tito Jackson's sons - Taryll, Taj and TJ.
Told from their perspective, the show gives viewers a look into the inner workings of the family and the heart, drama and chaos that accompanies each family member.

Wags to Riches

A reality show that follows animal behavorist Bill Berloni who is known for turning rescue dogs into actors for stage and screen.
The show follows him, his family and his menagerie as he trains his stars for a national tour. He's trained animals for various TV shows including The Leftovers, Power and Mr Robot. He is also known for training the star pooch for the broadway production of Annie.

Bates Motel 4

This isn't new but it's one of the best shows on TV so we thought we'd give you a heads-up on the Season 4 premiere so you can catch-up on Seasons 1 to 3 before it starts.
In case you haven't seen it... it's the prequel to the 1960 film Psycho, which depicts the life of Norman Bates and his mother Norma prior to the stabby-stabby events in Alfred Hitchcock's film, set in a different fictional town and in modern times.

The Story of God

A six part documentary series hosted and produced by Morgan Freeman that seeks to understand how religion has evolved throughout the course of civilisation, and in turn how religion has shaped the evolution of society.
Although in our current geopolitical landscape, religion is often seen as something that divides, the series illuminates the similarities among different faiths, even those that seem to be in staunch contrast. This is a quest for God: to shed light on the questions that have puzzled, terrified and inspired mankind, not to mention Freeman himself.
Morgan tackles the biggest questions of human existence and faith, travelling across the globe to experience profound and dramatic expressions of faith, while meeting with scientists who shed light on the relationship between religion and science.

The latest series from Shonda Rhimes (creator of The Fixer and Grey's Anatomy) about Alice, a private investigator who gets conned out of millions by her fiancé. He disappears and she makes it her personal mission to find him to make him pay. She'll stop at nothing to catch her man

Mireille Enos stars as Alice and Six Feet Under's Peter Krause stars as her fiancé Kieran.

A thriller about a politician's son who disappears and reappears 10 years later after everyone presumed he was dead.
He gets welcomed back into his family but he's strange and mysterious and suspicions start to emerge - is he really who he says he is?
It stars Joan Allen, Rupert Graves and Andrew McCarthy.

Divorce

Premiere date: After 16 August 2016.
Sarah Jessica Parker makes her TV comeback a decade after Sex and the City in this HBO comedy about a woman goes through a divorce of epic proportions.
Sarah plays Francis Parker, a woman who finds herself reassessing her life and marraige. Her single girlfriends encourage her to get divorced but she isn't sure if she can go with it until suddenly things get decided for her when her husband finds out about an affair she's been having and wants a divorce himself.

Outcast
On: FOX
Premiere date: Unconfirmed, later this year.
The new series from Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman, based on his comic book series of the same name.
It's a supernatural horror that follows the story of Kyle Barnes (played by Patrick Fugit), a man possessed. Literally.
All of his loved ones are supernaturally possessed and he's been plagued by possession since he was a child. As an adult, he embarks on a journey to find answers but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.
