we spilt that Pearl Thusi has ditched LIVE Amp for new ventures and we can now reveal where she’s headed to next.
Lip Sync Battle Africa. A local version of the comedy reality competition in which celebs battle each other with lip sync performances of famous music videos.
Pearl will be co-hosting with Nigerian muso D’Banj. Pearl will be the overall host and master of ceremonies and D’Banj will be the colour commentator, adding his observations about the battles between celebs.
The series premieres on MTV, MTV Base and e.tv in April and the competing schlebs will be revealed a week before the show premieres on MTV. They've been cast by the creative, production and talent teams for MTV and MTV Base with input from e.tv.
According to MTV's Channel Director Dillon Khan: "We picked people that we thought would throw themselves into the spirit of Lip Sync Battle and, who weren't afraid of looking silly; we were also influenced by people who we thought would work well together and create a good battle."
Seems it's going to be fun times - bring it on!
