So who got bludgeoned on The Walking Dead??

I've never watched a show that's made me feel such depths of horror, anger and mindbending despair as I felt on Monday during The Walking Dead finale. What was that??!!!

It was absolute MADNESS in the very strictest sense of the word and I'll never get over it. We've never seen our heroes in such a devastatingly defeated situation - Rick crying. All of them so brutally violated with no hope at all. I can literally feel the tears welling up as I write this it's so intense!!

I felt ferocious for our heroes and I was also angry with the show for putting me through the suffering and for the commentary it made because it's perspective on humanity was so dark it almost drove me out of my mind.

The only vague light through it all was the fact that Jeffrey Dean Morgan plays the new EVIL taxman Negan and I've always liked him because he's hott and very affable generally so I kept forcing myself to think: "It's HIM, it's Jeffs. Do. Not. Forget. He's just acting."

Of course this mind control was impossible once it became clear that he was definitely going to use that barbed wire bludgeon whose name I refuse to remember. And when he did, it was the most violent, vicious moment on the show. EVER.

The zombies and their behaviour are nothing in comparison with him because they can't help who they are - they aren't human - and yet he is and it was devastating to see.

Thankfully none of our faves got the brunt of it though because there's no way the show would have put us through that and then killed or maimed someone that we really love.

I'm convinced that it was the no name brand who got beaten... I use the term loosely because I don't see how anyone could make it out of that alive. I've just looked up his name because I always forget it...Aaron.

He's such a side line character and we hardly know anything about him so I'm sure it's him, especially because he just "happened" to go on the trip. Rick even had that argument with him about staying at home instead of going. Of course he didn't say "I'm going to be bludgeoned!" but I'm sure it's why he went.

Do you think so too?

Lol Tashi, I've never watched an episode of the walking dead but I feel you. I feel the same everytime I watch an episode of Game of Thrones, I was left so bereft when that sword sliced Ned Stark's neck, or when Rob Stark, Kat and Rob's wife were massacred. All these shos nowadays are not afriad to kill off a main character.

This scene happens in the comics, and it is in fact one of the main characters who gets killed off, so it's entirely possible that the show will also kill off one of them.  It's not necessarily going to be the same one as there are some definite differences between the two, but it was a shock in the comics and I suspect it's going to be a shock in the show as well.  And I'm not sure if I should say any more for fear of giving away comic spoilers...

that scene haunts me every time i close my eyes, I felt my heart beating in my face and my whole body was numb when Negan kept talking. I was trying to think of all the possibilities they had to escape but the fact Carol got multiple bullet wounds dampened my spirit. That was just a brutal final episode, too much for me.. felt like Jon Snow's death all over again

So pleased you feel meh Ingenuity - it always eases the blow to know you're so understood.

"that scene haunts me every time i close my eyes"

A perfect way of describing it spongy - me too. I keep seeing the blood splatter as if it was on my head!

Cit... you can't go saying stuff like that and expect me not to go rifling through the comics to see who it was. I'm convinced it definitely can't be Maggie or Carl - it would be too, too dark - I just don't see them doing that. As much as I don't want it to be I'm suspecting it's Daryll ... he's such a main character it would be a HUGE blow.
