Connie Ferguson leaves Generations. Again.

As spilt by TVSA member Max85 right here, Connie Ferguson is quitting Generations. Again.

She left the show back in 2010 to pursue other ventures, starred on M-Net soapie The Wild for two years and returned to save Generations in late 2014 after the firing fiasco shut down the soapie for months.

Gen has confirmed the news of her exit in a statement, stating that she asked to be released from her contract so she can focus on projects that need her full attention.

Her character Karabo Moroka will still be on the show for the next couple of months until she's written out.

And then... ? Will her departure have a negative impact or has the soapie managed to create a new Legacy that can sustain the departure of one its biggest stars?

That's the big question ,will Ferguson's departure be the end for Generations .surely Jack Mabaso can't carry the show alone .Mfundi will have to dig into his pockets and find few prominant actors to carry the show forward .I wonder if Rapulana Seiphemo will return to the show .

I am extremely hurt and bitterly disappointed. How I feel right now is exactly how I felt when the original actors of the old Generations left in the early 2000s. Especially Sello Maake kaNcube, who played Archie Moroka and ultimately when the last true Moroka left in 2010, which was Karabo. Some people might celebrate and rejoice this and mention the 2014 fallout, but as one of the viewers that watched the original show in its infancy in the early 1990s, I was happy the Moroka storyline returned. But sadly now it will be difficult to follow the show. But one can't be too sure.

the character must be killed this time for gud..and karabo must have a brother not a sister who is an out sider bt no one knew him..myb was concieved as result of rape and the mother was silenced(killed)by karabo's father and his been looking for his family then karabo finds out and bt can not accept him..then the brother is angry and kills karabo bt not intentionaly bt propelled by circumstances the guy faced ..and the brother lead the legacy bt he comes with a manipulative wife who does not care abt smanga/mazwi bt care for their son,the son is nothing like his mother bt bonds deeply with his family...cast well known people like hlomla dandala and meme from muvhango as his wife so that the legacy continues

Generations will officially not have even one original cast member like isidingo .it is a huge blow .cz we used to think back on the original cz of Karabo character .it will be tough going forward .I am pretty sure Vundla is panicking right now .

If it is to remain The Legacy, then both Moroka brothers, Mazwi and Smanga must stay. I think it would be a better idea to bring back Khensani Moroka played by the original actress, Phemelo Ncobo. It wont make sense to erase the Moroka storyline.

with all the actresses SA has wont it be better just to recast her? Whats going to happen to the Amo Storyline, if his mother is gone? i wonder too will Tau be back anytime soon

I think it would be difficult to recast a character that was played by someone for 17 years. I remember they did a recast of Archie Moroka but it became a huge failure. It would be a long shot, but maybe they might get lucky. Whatever happens, the writers and producers will have to come up with a convincing concept.

Bring back Rosie Motene as Tshego for Tau and they have a baby together.

Not even the biggest salary they gave her when she returned could make her change her mind. I suspect this has to do with salary issues which why the Generations 16 left/got fired

This was bound to happen sooner or later even with Rapulana, he will leave. The main reason they came back was to assist with the startup of the new show, it would have been difficult having all new faces and new story lines. As you remember people reacted very negatively to the show in the first few weeks. Now that it has captured the audience the big faces will leave one by one. What was surprising to me was the exist of the not so established actors as well
