The relationship between Aras and Vytas has been the most interesting of the season so far and the intense issues between them came though in the smack attack challenge bigtime.
I've been on #TeamAras since the start because he's the one who's been bullied but this week I found myself feeling for Vytas too. Something about him made me realise that it can't be easy being perceived as a drug abusing loser when you have such a winner, golden child for a brother.
To make matters worse, Vytas is older so he should be the "good one" who sets the example but Aras has been the one who's achieved.
Clearly this is how they've been perceived so it must suck to be Vytas and he obviously took his rage out on Aras as a result.
And now it's Aras's turn to do the same. Despite the fact that I felt for Vytas, I was thrilled that Aras beat him because he's been bullied and it's so important to stand up for yourself.
Which the daughters still refuse to do! The mothers remain detemined to beat their daughters. Ciera's a stick insect so there was no way she was going to be able to beat Laura whose boobs are enough to smack anyone down.
Katie though... Tina's daughter... she could easily have beaten Tina and yet she didn't, which got me wondering whether it was intentional - whether she didn't want to because she doesn't want to stand up to her. It happens to so many daughters round the world that I'm convinced there was an element of this at play.
When the season first started I didn't realise that having the family members would create so many crazy dynamics but it's proving to be excellently juicy because it has an implication on
everything.
Colton left Caleb in the lurch because he's too much of a Pig to stay, Gervase and Marissa keep having a go at each other and John has to decide if he's going to stand back to ensure that Candice wins at Redemption Island after his blindsiding.
If he sees that Marissa is winning the challenge or coming second and he's coming first or second, will he hold back to let Candice win instead?
Never. He's already proven that he makes decisions that serve him more than they do her.
