Afro Café goes through a schedule shake-up this week with the addition of a new Saturday timeslot.
It's always been tucked away on week nights in the 22h00 slot but as from this Saturday (7 May) it's going to air on Saturdays at 21h00 first.
According to SABC2's Programme Manager Jacqui Hlongwane, the reason for the move is because: "We believe that the earlier time slot will not only yield better audiences and revenues but will also offer alternative viewing over the weekend as this slot is dominated by movies. Music has a universal appeal and we feel this property is better suited for a weekend offering."
A repeat of each week's episode will air in the show's current timeslot on Wednesdays at 22h00.
