The 2016 UEFA European Championship kicks off in France this Friday (10 June) with 24 teams contending for the title for the first time. SABC1 and the SABC radio stations will only be broadcasting seven of the games across the tournament, which ends on 10 July.

The new format
The tournament has been extended from 16 teams this year and features a new format as a result.
The group stage consists of six groups of four teams and the Top 2 teams from each group will go through to the first knockout stages - the quarter finals.
They'll be joined by the Top 4
third place teams who will also go through so that there are a total of 16 teams in the quarterfinals.
