Baby Cele, Yonda Thomas wear the badge on Isidingo

There's a big hoo-ha coming up on Isidingo next week that's going to send Horizon Deep's police force into full throttle.

Eddie (Paul Buckby) slaps cuffs on Obakeng (Anga Makubalo) and Nina (Khabonina Qubeka) doesn't take it well.

Things get so intense between them that two new law enforcers are brought in, played by Baby Cele and Yonda Thomas.

Yonda rose to fame on the first season of the SABC1 reality show Class Act and has since carved out an impressive career for himself with starring roles on SABC1's Fallen and Room 9 and a guest starring role on three seasons of Mzansi Magic's isiBaya.

Yonda arrives on the Deep as officer Majola, a glory hound who'll do anything to get acclaim. He has a hot bod and knows it, which gives him a confidence that borders on arrogance.

He's highly ambitious and sees his job as more important than the community. He believes that the community needs to respect a man in uniform and he wants to move up the police ranks. Quickly.

Baby, who starred on Mzansi Magic's cancelled Zabalaza for the past three years, plays Colonel Sibongile “Bongi” Nene, Eddie and Majola's superior.

She has a lot more grace than either of them and she's a fierce champion of justice - someone who'll do whatever it takes to ensure that justice is served.

She also has a very different view of the community from Majola because she's compassionate towards them and sees her career as the ultimate service to her country, which she would give her life for. She also has a keen eye that misses nothing.

She makes her first appearance on Wednesday, 10 August and Yonda debuts a week later.
