Believe it sweet Survivor lover - it's BACK! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Despite the huge fuss and to do from Hlaudi Motsoeneng about local content, Survivor's back in business on SABC3 on Monday nights from 3 October for Season 28: Cayagan.
And we have the Divas of Jozi to thank. I have no doubt that the reason for the decision is that SABC realised they can't make any money in the timeslot unless they steer clear of such mega flops and stick with fan favourites.
Another possibility is that they couldn't get it together to ensure that the next local show was ready. A local travel show called Uyanda: It's On was supposed to start in the timeslot but it's been taken off the schedule and it's nowhere to be seen. If local is supposed to be so sacred then why didn't they replace it with a repeat of a repeat of local as they do??
I definitely prefer the #FlopsOfJozi explanation because it makes the most sense. The channel needs loyal eyeballs to stay afloat and clearly a show like Flops
isn't going to make it happen.
Bring on Survivor!! Keep a lookout for a Who's Who in the Zoo for the season.
