South African actress Mohau Mokoatle-Cele will return as Bongi for the new season.
MTV is on a search for actors for the upcoming new season of Shuga and one of the roles could go to You.
MTV and MTV's Staying Alive Foundation have ordered a fifth season of the drama series which explores sexual and emotional issues that impact on the youth. Previous seasons have been filmed in Kenya and Nigeria but the new season will be filmed in South Africa for the first time, produced by Quizzical Pictures (Rhythm City, Intersexions, Umlilo).
The season premieres on MTV Base and BET on 8 March 2017, with a mix of returning and new cast - which is where you come in.
The production is looking for four actors to join the cast in supporting roles and the castings are happening in Joziburg and online.
Open audition call
The open auditions will be held on Saturday, 15 October at Bassline in Newtown Joziburg. Doors open at 09h00 and close at 17h00.

If you can't make the open auditions, you can submit a short audition video of yourself via Twitter or Instagram by using the hashtag #MTVShuga5.

Who can audition?
- South African residents between the ages of 18 and 35.
- You should have good spoken English and no criminal record.
- No acting experience is necessary.
- You have to be available for filming in Joziburg between December 2016 and January 2017.
