It's been four months since Capetonian Richard Stirton won The Voice SA and today his prize came to fruition with the release of his debut album Middle Ground. He's been working on it at the B-Sharp Studios in Boksburg with producer Denholm Harding and it features 10 tracks.
It includes songs by Richard himself which impresses me because you know how dictatorial and controlling reality shows can be. It's cool because Universal hasn't just been big talk - they said they would encourage self expression on the albums they're producing with The Voice contestants and they obviously have.
These are the tracks on his album:
1. Break the Silence
2. What Tears Me the Most (The first single he released after winning the show.)
3. Catching the Tears
4. Our Night (Written by Richard)
5. Skinny Love (His awesome first audition song that set him up for the win.)
6. Dance (Written by Richard with Jethro Tait.)
7. Fall Apart (Written by Richard)
8. If I
9. The Sound of Silence (The showstopper that sealed the deal for him as the competion reached its peak.)
10. Call It Luck
