Uzalo extends to five days a week: it's coming...

Confirmed!

TVSA can reveal that Uzalo will be extending from three to five days a week from February 2017. Season 3 premieres at the beginning of Feb and the new five day set-up will take effect to coincide with the new season.

The decision to extend the show was issued by decree earlier this year in the neverending, explosive chaos and mayhem surrounding the SABC and Hlaudi Motsoeneng. It wasn't implemented immediately because the show had already completed planning for the remainder of Season 2 so it was postponed until the new season.

The series has remained a ratings hit for SABC1 throughout the year, alternating with Generations as the No.1 show in the country. It was No 1. in November attracting 8,138,998 viewers for its most popular episode.

Uzalo fans... how do you feel about the extension? Are you happy or do you prefer things the way they are?

im not a fan bt angry since SABC is all about soapies now not Drama's.. i guess mzansi magic/Etv will win all Dramas...i will just have to wait and see who is behind pastor mdletshe re-casted character. ...im sure gxabashe is back too since the pastor character is back

The decision is a good one because sabc can use the revenue generated by this show .i am just worried like Qavile about all the dramas that were on that timeslot .sabc 1 will have create a new timeslot for local dramas.

I think that is great that they have extended to five days a week.  The 20h30 slot on SABC1  on Thursdays and Fridays was a bit dry, the dramas that were aired were boring. The only drama that i enjoyed was Mutual Friends.

I hear Ayanda is taking a break from the show .he wants to shoot his scenes in Joburg while the rest if the cast shoots in KZN ,that will never happen .the show might have to recast him .
