If you're anything like me, you'll be wanting to experience the delight, joy and bliss of this moment from The Walking Dead 7 finale MANY times over...
I can't get enough of it!
I was literally shaking in terror with my hands over my eyes as Negan wielded the traumatising Lucille over Carl... we know that the show has an addiction to killing off major characters and I was convinced it could happen to Carl too.
But, in the back of my mind, I wasn't 100% sure - how could they murder such a young character?? - especially after he pulled that incredible move when Sasha emerged as salvation.
I also knew Shiva was on the way with Ezekiel and yet the waiting was too much, too intense, too uncertain - you knew they might arrive but then it was too late - until it wasn't.
Ultimately the moment of Shiva's pounce has to go down as one the best, most brilliantly timed and shriekworthy moments in TV history.
Of course it wasn't actually a tiger but a dude in a blue suit.
Chandler Riggs aka Carl posted this insight into how it was filmed:
The show has released a behind-the-scenes video with further details on how they filmed the CGI but it isn't available in South Africa unfortunately. I can't
stand it when shows do that - so unfair and disrespectful to fans in other countries. If you find a watchable video - please share.
I'm not gonna let it curb my enthusiasm though because the scene was too cool. I was irritated by the criticism directed at the show a couple of weeks ago when Michonne and Rick met that deer in the forest... there's been a lot of criticism that it was too CGI. It wasn't the greatest CGI job but I didn't care.
I don't care about any of it - the only thing I care about is the fact that Negan has been dethroned. On one hand I was iffy that he didn't die but on another I'm prepared to accept that he's escaped because his death would have been too quick if it had happened in the finale.
I want to see him squirming and humiliated and tortured to the point where he can't take anymore. I want to see him suffer every emotion our heroes have suffered and I'm prepared to play the long game.
I have no doubt that our heroes will wreak hellfire and the most extreme vengeance on him. I want them to spend an entire season killing him. Bring on Season 8!
It starts with the show's 100th episode in October this year.
