The Zaziwa saga continues and this time the next chapter is set on Wednesdays.
The Pearl Modiadie talk show has has been pulled from its Sunday night timeslot at 20h30 on SABC1 where it's faced a ratings meltdown.
The series suffered
a loss of over a million viewers when it moved from Thursdays at 19h30 to Sundays in February this year and it hasn't made SABC1's Top 20 list since then.
Now it's getting the runaround again and will be moving to Wednesdays at 18h00 but not immediately - only on 8 November. This means it won't be on air for three months because it's been pulled from Sundays as from this Sunday (20 August).
This latest development comes in the same week that SABC1 debuts the channel's
new Sunday night drama series Tjovitjo at 20h00 so Zaziwa could have found new viewership zest on Sundays if Tjovitjo proves to be a strong lead-in.
Bizarrely Zaziwa will be replaced by another re-run of Shaka Zulu, which was made in roughly 1873.
36 episodes remain of Season 5 of Zaziwa. It's going to return with episode 17 which features
this interview with ProVerb.
