A re-imagining of the horror novel about Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who uses her telekinetic powers with devastating effect after being a victim of a cruel prank at her senior prom.
Carrie White is a sheltered high school student who is tormented at school by her sadistic classmates and abused at home by her zealot mother. Carrie has a secret though: the unique gift of telekinesis.
And when a horrible prank at prom pushes Carrie too far, all nightmares break loose as the bullied young woman uses her gift to enact fiery revenge on all those who have hurt her.
