Returning for its fifth season, the only weekly news-oriented comedy series to be presented on Sunday night takes a satirical look at news, politics and current events.
Taped in New York a few hours before it debuts, the Emmy-winning show features Oliver's topical commentary on the previous week's events, as well as addressing broader issues.
The first episode of the new season is titled "Trump vs. The World". Other segments covered in the episode are the Parkland, Florida school shooting; corruption investigations against Benjamin Netanyahu, the resignation of Jacob Zuma; and Barnaby Joyce.
