If you were to suddenly stumble onto R1-million by yourself, what would you do?
It's an easy question to answer. Take it!
BUT... what would you do if you found the mil' with a group of strangers? People who will
always know what you did?
Forever.
It's a very different question because you'd be at their mercy for life. Never knowing who you can trust with the knowledge. Never sure what their intentions are or what crazy thing they could do next that would ruin your life.
This is the mind-wrestling situation at the heart of SABC2's new drama series Guilt, which premieres this coming Wednesday (28 February) at 21h30.
The 13-episode series is produced by Coal Stove Pictures (Thula's Vine, Remix, Hear Me Move) and follows the exploits of a group of neighbours who live in Emangeni Section, Tembisa. They survive a near death experience in a taxi and discover a cool million as a result.
Which leaves them facing the question of their lives: do they declare it to the police or do they share it?
They agree to split it between them and then they get consumed. The guilt begins to eat at them and things really explode when they discover where the money actually came from...
The show stars Tendaiishe Chitima (Mutual Friends, Isidingo), Miza Modibedi (Streets of Mangaung, Ashes to Ashes), Khutjo Green (Skeem Saam, Broken Vows), Lehlohonolo Makoko (Backstage, Gold Diggers) and Mlindelwa Mahlangu (Isithembiso, iThuba Lokugcina), who plays Phenyo, the driver of the taxi at the centre of the action.

And ponder... if it happened to you, what would you do? Keep in mind that if you give it to the police, you'd put them in exactly the same dilemma as you!
