The penultimate episode of Side Dish aired over the weekend and the series moved up a gear as we head towards the finale next week.
So what's the verdict on Episode 3? Let's dig in...
Our lovely snakes, Sli and Co., felt the noose start to close in on them over the weekend. Finally Apollo discovered the charred remains of his beloved Phiwe and he vowed to get to the bottom of her apparent suicide.
Sli tried to mislead him, but may have just given him the piece that will bring the trio down by telling him that Phiwe was having an affair.
The not-so-well-kept secret that Amanda's child is Richard's (the dead dude) finally came into play and I must say, I was surprised at how the husband reacted.
I guess it's always okay if the dude is the one cheating but when the woman does, it's always made to be a way bigger issue in comparison, which is a pity.
Side Dish is great when it lets the plot move and the second half of this episode was all about the plot machinisation moving and clicking into place, after the obligatory exposition with funeral bits.
I loved how Skhalo's sub-plot of trying to get a tender ended up with him in Limpopo, digging up the body that the wife buried - still unaware of Sli's involvement. Sli's slyness was confirmed and highlighted as she pulled crocodile tears at the funeral.
Joyce's husband is the first to find out one of the ladies' dark secrets and the question is: what will happen when Skhalo and Apollo find out the full extent of the trio's secrets?
Episode 3 ended on a cliff hanger with Apollo discovering that Sli was the one who was having an affair with Richard.
The question with the video evidence and the cryptic book of Phiwe's drawing... will the house of cards collapse next week or will Sli, Joyce and Amanda find a way to get out of the hole they've dug for themselves?
All shall be revealed this upcoming Sunday (9 September).
