Special notes

SABC1's decision to oust Zaziwa for MTV Shuga 6 has lost the channel over a million viewers in the 19h30 timeslot on Wednesdays.

As you can see, MTV Shuga's most watched episode this month attracted 3,206,730 viewers. In July it attracted 3,391,455.

This is an average of 3,299,093 viewers over the past two months.

In contrast, Zaziwa attracted 4,175,159 viewers in June and 4,465,505 viewers in May: an average of 4,320,332 viewers so it's safe to say over a million viewers have been lost in the timeslot.

For more on this situation, please see: SABC1's shoddy treatment of Zaziwa.

Evodia, Chrystal and Mosetsana didn't make it to DSTV top 30? You don't say?

I admit, I didn't give Imbewu a chance. I was convinced its ratings will go into the toilet like Ashes to Ashes and Gold Diggers. I guess Duma was wise enough to know that it is suicidal to choose the fateful 8pm slot. He must be laughing straight to the bank knowing Muvhango and Imbewu are doing well.

Well done to Imbewu and The Queen, the storylines and cast are gradually expanding. I commend them for giving us quality alternatives, SA needs more of such.
