Oh dear reader... it's too much! We're in the midst of another terrible loss to the entertainment industry with the death of
the one-and-only HHP.
In case you've missed the news... Jabulani Tsambo a.k.a. Hip Hop Pantsula died today (Wednesday, 24 October) of causes unknown.
It's such a tragedy that it feels impossible to say anything that means
enough.
There's media speculation that it was suicide because of his battle with depression and the fact that he's spoken about previous suicide attempts. He was only 38 so it seems possible.
I chatted to him at various TV events and he was brilliant. Exactly as you'd imagine him to be - as he came across in his music and on TV.
My HHP TV highlight was the cool documentary Who Do You Think You Are? that followed him to his roots in Bafokeng, showing how his heritage influenced his passion for Motswako music. Do you remember it?
I went to the premiere of it at the Encounters Film Festival where I took these pics...
Here's a link to his TVSA Profile as a memory of his career:

RIP Jabba and many heartfelt sympathies to your loved ones.
