It's goodbye to
Chasing My Heart on Star Life this month and hello to Family Affairs (originally titled Mere Angne Mein in India).
It premieres on Monday, 20 May at 18h00 and it's aaaaaaaall about what happens when a family's grandmother goes mad with the power she's been given by her family and social conventions.
Shanti Srivastav (played by Kruttika Desai Khan) is one of those... a personality who's become so over-controlling, she thinks she owns everyone's lives - and does. She even makes her family hand their salaries over to her.
But wait, there's more.
She gives large sums of cash to her favourite daughter Sarla (Ananya Khare).
How does anyone manipulate a whole family into such subservience?!
It definitely happens in the real world and this story reveals the impact of someone standing up to her.
Enter Riya (played by Ekta Kaul) and suddenly Shanti doesn't have so much power anymore.
Riya falls in love with Shanti's grandson Shivam (Karam Rajpal) and challenges Shanti's iron fist.
What could possibly go wrong?
