First Nomhle Nkonyeni, then Johnny Clegg and now acting stalwart Danny Keogh has died.
The cause of his death hasn't been revealed but a friend of his actor son Ty Keogh confirmed the news to
Maroela Media today (24 July).
Danny was born in Uganda and made his name as a South African actor appearing on TV, in film and on stage.
His TV roles included Bruno on Known Gods, Detective Max on Interrogation Room and Julius Holt on the South African/Canadian co-production Charlie Jade.
His stage résumé includes Shakepeare productions and Marat Sade; and his film credits include Tornado and the Kalahari Horse Whisperer, which won him a Best Supporting Actor award at the 2009 Monaco International Film Festival.
He was also one of the founder members of The Market Theatre.
He was 71.
