A heads-up that Suits steps into primetime on M-Net this Thursday (8 August) where the final season airs as it was intended, in a double bill with its new spin-off Pearson.
Suits 9 premieres at 20h10 and Pearson follows at 21h10 - the same set-up as it airs in the US.
Both shows premiered in America on 17 July and have 10 episodes each, six episodes less than Suits 8 - which starts on M-Net City this month too, on Sunday, 25 August at 19h10.
According to the official description of Suits 9, everyone will be forced to decide Who They Are and what types of lawyers they ultimately want to be...
The final season picks up with Manhattan corporate law firm, Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams, facing uncertainty and change yet again after Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) took the fall with the Bar Association to save Harvey (Gabriel Macht).
After his sacrifice, Samantha Wheeler (Katherine Heigl) is left reeling from the loss of her mentor, and while trying to console her, Harvey realizes that he doesn't want to lose the most important person to him: Donna (Sarah Rafferty).
Season 9 will follow the legendary lawyer and COO as they balance their relationship with work, as they fight to salvage the firm's tarnished reputation alongside their partners, Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman), Alex Williams (Dulé Hill), Katrina Bennett (Amanda Schull), and Samantha.
As the season progresses, the core characters' personal lives will be explored more deeply than ever before, setting up the series conclusion.
Meanwhile, over in the Windy City, Gina Torres reprises her role as Jessica Pearson, who swapped law for politics when she moved to Chicago to work for Mayor Bobby Novak (played by Homeland's Morgan Spector).
Her storyline was introduced in a backdoor pilot at the end of Season 7 and the series follows her new life:
Pearson centres around the world of recently disbarred NYC powerhouse lawyer Jessica Pearson as she adjusts to down and dirty Chicago politics.
Newly appointed as Chicago Mayor Bobby Novak's right hand fixer, Jessica is quickly embroiled in a crooked and dangerous new world where every action has far-reaching consequences.
With her compulsion to win, Jessica is forced to reconcile her unstoppable drive with her desire to do the right thing - two things very much at odds.
It's been created by Suits creator Aaron Korsh, who teams up with TV writer/producer Daniel Arkin. Both are executive producers, along with Gina.
So where does Meghan Markle's Rachel Zane fit in with it all? She's staying home with Hazza and their bazza obviously.
According to
Entertainment Tonight, her presence will still "be felt" on Suits through phonecalls and mentions e.g. Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) returns for Episode 5 and will call Rachel but we'll only see Mike on the phone with Rachel, while Megz stays home being Royal.
Another tidbit to note: Gabriel Macht (Harvey) directs Episode 3.
