Knapsekêrels

Drama series set in Johannesburg which tells the story of four diverse families and their struggle for survival in the big city.

In the first episode, Naomi Fortuin asks her son: "What is a knapsekêrel?" His answer: "It's a guard who holds onto his mission for dear life."

Knapsekêrels tells the story of four families (the Bekker, Zimmerman, Davids and Fortuin families) who get to know each other by chance when a family member of each family gets involved in a race for survival.

When Skalkie gets appointed by the Zimmerman family, he doesn't realise how complicated it will get, especially since Baby Tjoklits and Chilly have other ideas about how the security situation should be handled at the various mansions.

Each character has their own hidden agenda and before they know it, all hell breaks loose.

At the critical point between right and wrong, where love turns into hate and where light and darkness meet – that is where the dangerous underworld of Knapsekêrels can be found.

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas 2

Channel: Vuzu (DStv 116)
TX Time: 22h00
Genre: Documentary Series

Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas 2

Wyatt Cenac, a longtime correspondent for The Daily Show, examines a wide range of social and cultural problems facing Americans in the show, which features documentary-style field reports that serve as the focal point of each episode.

These segments take him around the country, from suburban Minneapolis to downtown Cincinnati to rural Texas, as he investigates systemic issues from his unique perspective.

This season focuses on education in America, investigating teacher pay, student mental health, the school-to-prison pipeline and other pressing topics.

Cenac will visit West Virginia, Oregon, California, Minnesota and other areas around the country to learn how communities navigate issues facing public education.

While education today serves as the season's primary focus, Wyatt Cenac's Problem Areas will address other issues, including the unionisation of fast-food workers and the potential dangers of facial recognition software.

Other issues include comedic solutions to lighter topics, such as how to get more steps in at the office or how to teach kids practical skills, like filing taxes.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Labor Problems": Wyatt examines why workers at major fast-food chains aren't unionised, contemplates the perfect pair of shoes to wear to a protest, and travels to West Virginia to learn about teachers' strikes.
