Brides, Grooms and Emergency Rooms

Getting married is usually the happiest, most romantic day of a couple's life; a time to celebrate love and unity.

But for some very unlucky couples, it all goes horribly wrong.

This series recounts the stories of fantasy wedding plans that have been completely derailed by harrowing medical mysteries and shocking emergencies.

A hunt for a wedding venue in Mexico becomes a dramatic kidnapping and leaves an engaged couple fighting for survival; a groom-to-be is struck by a life-threatening form of pneumonia two days before his wedding; a wedding ceremony is thrown into jeopardy after being hit by a massive sandstorm.

These are just some of the astonishing accounts of when the big day goes very, very bad.

Stroop

Channel: kykNET (DStv 144)
TX Time: 20h00
Genre: Documentary, Wildlife, Afrikaans

Stroop

Afrikaans version of the award-winning documentary on the rhino poaching crisis featuring interviews with rangers, prosecutors, vets, orphan rehabilitators, activists, private rhino owners, forensic and police investigators.

Wildlife television presenter Bonné de Bod and filmmaker Susan Scott sold their homes, left their jobs, moved in with their mothers and gave up three years of their lives to make this film.

What started out as a six-month documentary film on the crisis turned into a passion project for the two award-winning filmmakers.

In addition to ploughing their own financial resources into the film, the two received grants and public funding to make the film.

Winning 23 awards and officially selected for 30 film festivals, this acclaimed film takes you on a rollercoaster ride between Africa and Asia.

These first time filmmakers embed themselves on the front-lines of the rhino poaching crisis where they are given exclusive access to the war unfolding.

Carving out six months for the project, the two women quickly find themselves immersed in a world far larger and more dangerous than they had imagined, only emerging from their odyssey four years later.

Mann & Wife 2

Real-life husband and wife team David Mann (House of Payne, Meet The Browns) and Tamela Mann (Madea's Big Happy Family, Sparkle) are reuniting on screen, as well as behind-the-scenes as executive producers, with their family-friendly original sitcom.

In Mann & Wife, the couple draws inspiration from their real lives to play newlyweds Daniel and Toni Mann. The series follows the second-chance sweethearts as they laugh and love their way through the ups and downs of life as a blended family, each with two children from previous marriages.

Life as they know it is turned inside out when Daniel, a police officer from Atlanta, and Toni, a school teacher from Dallas, meet on a dating site and fall in love.

When they decide to marry and Toni moves into Daniel's house in the Atlanta suburbs, the honeymooners - along with their kids, two from each side - all have to adjust to their new lives together.

They also have to deal with David's overbearing live-in mother and his jet-setting ex-wife.

In the Season 2 premiere, "Mann Up": Toni's cousin comes to visit after another break up and gets set straight by Lorraine.

DJ and Trey try to prove their masculinity by participating in a police ride along as Daniel and Michael fight for the lieutenant job.
