Wild Africa: Rivers of Life
Channel: Real Time (DStv 155)
TX Time: 17h15
Genre: Wildlife, Nature, Documentary Series
This series looks at the wilds of Africa like never before, telling the natural stories that stem from the continent's flowing lifeblood: its rivers.
Each episode takes an intimate look at the landscape and animals inhabiting the rivers of Africa; from parched desert and scrubland, through grassy savannahs and even through the deepest African jungles.
The programme explores how a river is born, how it gathers its strength, how it affects the surrounding landscape and examines the relationship between the river and the people and animals that inhabit its banks.
From the struggle for survival in the parched Limpopo River Basin, to the Luangwa River - home to the world's largest hippo population - and the Zambezi River flowing through nine African countries, where creatures range from elephants to crocodiles, it's a daily fight for survival.
And every river has a unique story to tell.
