Kat (Patrick Seleka) and Tbose (Cornet Mamabolo) in Season 1
Thursday 13 October 2011.
The date of the first episode of Skeem Saam.
It began as a 13-episode drama series, extended to 26 episodes for Season 2 and went on to become a daily in 2014.
10 years have passed since its debut and last Monday we found ourselves praying a desperate Skeem Psalm when Season 10 failed to materialise, replaced with a Season 9 repeat.
A long 24 hours went by and the season eventually premiered on Tuesday, with a double bill on Friday to make up for the fiasco.
And now, new faces and comebacks are standing in the wings, ready for their entrance.
This is who to expect over the next month:
Nandi
Played by Fundi Zwane (Generations, Imbewu)
Sifiso's wife. Nandi's described as a strong woman in her late 30s who regards herself as a home executive.
She believes it's her duty to be a committed mother and respectful wife. She was born and raised in a small, tranquil village in Richard’s Bay and has never found the big city appealing.
Her secret: she's always been a tiny bit jealous of Sifiso and MaNtuli's close relationship. And as you know, you can never only be a tiny bit jealous because once you feel it, it's there, no matter how big or small the feeling.
She debuts on Tuesday 27 July.
Jazzy T
Played by Mpho Molepo (Rhythm City)
Skeem Saam's resident music producer returns, played by Rhythm City star Mpho, who's also currently hosting a new eReality series
Pay Back the Money which started at the weekend.
Mpho takes over the role of Jazzy T from Karabo Mokhubela who sadly died last year after a short illness.
Jazzy returns on Thursday 29 July and remains true to who he is: the somewhat famous DJ who loves to partay.
Lord of the Flies
Reprised by Archie Nhlapo
Last spotted in Turfloop in 2016. He makes an appearance on 27 July to support Leeto who celebrates his divorce like a lottery winner.
Babymaker
Reprised by Bongani Masondo
We know Babymaker from Seasons 3 to 5 and he returns with Lord of the Flies and the Jazzmeister to whoop with Leeto. First seen again on 23 July.
Word from Skeem Saam producers PEU Communication Solutions is that more newcomers will arrive as the season unfolds so keep your peepers peeled.
