Everyone's been so distracted by the pandemic that exciting, lusty dating seems a thing of the past.
Add Tinder and dating sites to the equation and it's hard to believe that anyone's actually finding meaningful hook-ups at all.
This isn't the case on the second season of The Longest Date, which is now three episodes in on S3, on Mondays at 21h00.
The love rats are trying to make real world, close up connections with strangers and they're experiencing various degrees of success versus hell.
What does it take to be a good date?
We asked series host Chris Jaftha who shared his tips and insider take on how the cameras are capturing the show's liaisons and extreme challenges.
TVSA: What are your Top 3 dating tips?
Chris: I don’t date much but I would say, be respectful, be yourself and smell and look good and make it romantic - that’s 4 lol.
TVSA: Please can you take us behind-the-scenes. Where do you stay while filming? How many cameras filmed the action? What excites you most about the filming process?
I chill on set, in either the car that I came to set with, or I chill on set, watching how the contestants do so I have a better idea of what’s going on when I interview them.
We had five reality cameras on set, one more than the first season, which meant we were able to capture much more and create more content, along with drones, go-pros and underwater cams.
Flash fact: Chris does the challenges on the show too, which are filmed for the pre-demonstrations of what contestants must do.
