"Zero tolerance for nonsense" won the day on Big Brother Mzansi on Sunday when Themba and his right arm men were wrestled to the table by Michelle "Mphowabadimo" Mvundla.
The Daveyton sangoma won the R2-million prize in the Season 3 finale and declared that she didn't want a relationship with anyone from the house on the outside because she's moving on to the next phase of her life.
Cold, but a wise plan considering the lethal claws on some of those ex-housemates' hands.
At the beginning of the season Mpho said she has zero tolerance for nonsense, which she mentioned
in her profile, and this is why she won.
She beat back the producers' nasty format flop of giving too much power to one housemate, and she was an outsider.
She was the only one to properly befriend Nthabii when she arrived after everyone else and Nthabii was clearly thrilled at her win, shining her approval like a yellow light in one of the only stylish outfits of the night.
The only other housemate who didn't need a Fashion Police mugshot was Thato, who looked a lot more appropriate than the others in her funky three-piece ensemble.
Dinkybliss turned into a Dinkypuff, BU insisted on wearing his American accent and someone cut off half of Lawrence's jacket and didn't tell him until half way through the show.
The finale production was everything we expected unfortunately. Yet again random famous singers monopolised the stage while the actual stars of the series - the housemates - sat below and watched them, three of whom can sing themselves, or so they claim.
It was the ideal time for Venus, B.U. and Vyno to perform for us, no matter how good or bad they are, but they were roundly ignored in this regard.
Meanwhile, in the house, Big Brother made promises about how this is the best thing that's ever happened to them. That whole preachy speech to the Top 5 about how their risk has paid off.... um, no, it's only paid off for one. Promises mean nothing until they're fulfilled
Big Brother.
This is something that Themba was clearly feeling as he sat in the back group watching his R2-million evaporate before his very eyes. He must have felt confident with the huge amount of power he had so finishing third would have been shocking.
On one hand he was a victim of a reality low production decision that upset viewers deeply and on another he aligned himself with Tulz, who was an unpopular ally because he was never nominated.
Tulz was deluded and thought it was a good thing, but what it actually means is that the housemates didn't care about him enough to nominate him and the voting public felt the same way because he was booted first on the first night he was nominated.
And throughout all this Gash2 disappeared into the ether while everyone erupted in applause for Mpho. He didn't even get an interview like everyone else who departed before him because the musicians had hogged too much airtime and the director wanted things to end with confetti.
That's showbiz for ya. One moment you lose R2-million, the next no-one speaks to you and then next week Date My Family replaces Big Brother.
Did the risk pay off for the housemates? Who else will get confetti in the coming months? Who do you want to see more of?
