It's almost winter and no sign of the SAFTAs.
Since 2009 they've happened in March each year and then last year they were held in May, with the nominee announcement in April.
The National Film and Video Foundation called for entries at the end of last year but things have been so quiet this year, we're hearing crickets.
Our first assumption was that so many production houses are now boycotting the event there are no entries, but this isn't the case because the National Film and Video Foundation tells us that judging is currently underway.
We spoke to Stacey Takane, manager of events at the NFVF, who says that the awards have been pushed back and will most likely happen on the first weekend of September, with nominees announced in July.
Mystery solved.
Until July that is when we'll be scratching our heads at the nominee list, wondering who, what, why, how?!

Our vote goes to Ses'Top La on SABC1 and Poena on kykNET. Even though they don't qualify for this year's ceremony because they're currently airing, they need a dishonorary mention for being too annoying to be funny.
