Ultimate Braai Master is an outdoor cooking show which features various teams of two, each made up of a Braai Buddy and the Braai Master.
The teams are given different cooking challenges and each week, the weakest team faces elimination.
Season 8 is located in the Western Cape, the South African seafood capital.
Little do the contestants know that the braai motto "rain, wind or shine – we braai" is going to literally test their will to stay in the competition.
Who will take ownership of the next Ultimate Braai Master title?
In the Season 8 premiere, "From the Earth": The 10 teams partake in their first challenge of preparing a venison and loin shank with a flat bread on a rock.
They also have to incorporate at least two ingredients used by indigenous San people.
New host, Zimbabwean-born Tapfuma Makina, is a sports host and presenter. He's hosted shows on HeartFM and eNCA and was a voiceover artist on Top Billing.
A Rhodes University alum, Tapfuma's plans to continue on and study medicine after completing his BSc in Biochemistry and Microbiology changed direction after becoming a presenter on campus radio.
He has since hosted premieres and awards across sports, enterprise and entertainment.
