In the series premiere, "Veterans": This episode takes a deep dive into the horrifying realities of burn pits — giant holes that get filled with all kinds of trash, from plastic bags to entire trucks to human body parts and then gets lit on fire with jet fuel.
The US military routinely used burn pits to dispose of trash during its wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, among others.
In the process, some 3.5-million soldiers were potentially exposed to the carcinogen-laden smoke released by these massive burning piles.
Now many of those soldiers have developed rare respiratory problems and cancers as a result of their exposure to burn pits.
There is ample science showing that the chemicals released by burn pits are linked to these diseases, but for a long time the Department of Veterans Affairs claimed there wasn't yet enough science to prove the service connection.
This allowed the VA to deny benefit claims for these vets and to deprive them of the care they desperately needed.

Talented bakers take on springtime treats in a new season of the culinary competition Spring Baking Championship.
New host Molly Yeh presents the bakers with weekly challenges based on her life on the farm, as they must deliver fresh, delicious, and spring-forward treats.
In the Season 8 premiere, "Everything's Coming Up Floral": 12 bakers enter the Spring Baking barn to make fruit tarts that showcase their personalities, while also creating floral bonanza cakes.
Judges Kardea Brown, Nancy Fuller and Duff Goldman determine which bakers move on in the competition.
Throughout the season Molly delivers some of the biggest twists in Spring Baking history, with double eliminations and a baker returning to the competition to shake things up.
Other episodes include Molly bringing a taste of New Orleans to the farm with challenges inspired by Mardi Gras, including the bakers putting their own spin on the classic king cake and making a fantastic Mardi Gras parade float; and the bakers creating classic baseball stadium treats that make spring a little sweeter.
The four bakers that advance to the finale must bring a piece of their family history to the final challenge by creating a cherished family recipe and an heirloom wedding cake.
In the end, one baker is crowned the new Spring Baking Champion and takes home the cash prize and a spot in Food Network Magazine.

Josh, a world-ranked gamer, still lives at home with his parents, Gabe and Diane and has a dead-end job as a janitor at a sexual disease research center.
His social ineptitude, low self-esteem and prominent inability to approach women can only be matched by his unparalleled prowess at The Biotic Wars, a dystopian video game where his character, Future Man, has the top ranking in the world.
When he becomes the first and only person to beat the elusive final level, he's visited by the game's "fictional" characters, Tiger and Wolf, who prove to be all-too-real warriors sent back in time from a desecrated future with the task of recruiting him to save humanity from a deadly super-race invasion.
In the series premiere, "Pilot": Josh feels stuck in his dead-end job as a janitor so all he really does is play Biotic Wars, an unbeatable videogame the rest of the world has given up on.
But when Josh beats the game, mysterious visitors from the future appear: the world is in danger, and Josh is the only one who can save it.
