We've mentioned that there's a Chapter 2 coming soon and today we can reveal the "who, where and what" details about The Black Door spin-off titled Isitha: The Enemy.
No ama TV luvvas, it's not by Duma Ndlovu: The Producer, even though it sounds like it. It's produced by The Black Door creators Black Brain Pictures and it continues the story of the Sokhulu family, except erotic Khaya isn't at the centre of things anymore.
It premieres on Monday 22 May at 21h30 and follows Khaya's heavier, older brother Chuma Sokhulu - yes, that
Chuma who was presumed to have died in the early days of The Black Door. Let's not judge soapieville here. We all know that resurrections are as possible as they are in the Bible and Prison Break.
If you missed the Prison Break miracle - picture the scene: Dr Sara Tancredi's head was chopped off and delivered to her boyfriend's brother Lincoln in a box. We saw the gruesome sight as close-up as he did and yet she ended up making it out alive and kicking.
So Chuma's still alive too, and he arrives in the final episodes of The Black Door to set things up for the spin-off.
According to e.tv producer and TVSA blogger Thabang Phetla, both Khaya and Mam' Rebs will be in it, but they'll be on different missions.
Yes, Thabang's producing now! and he tells us that the world of The Black Door won't be in Isitha.
The adult nature of the series will end too and it's going to be more of a family show i.e. no more brothels and sex. It will still have an age restriction though: 16 versus 18 for The Black Door.
The action of Isitha begins in a royal homestead in eSwatini and explores what happened to Chuma, reprised by Thobani Nzuza.
He's joined by fellow DiepCityzen and former Uzalo matriarch Dawn Thandeka King who's in the new cast line-up, along with Sipho Ndlovu, who was also on DiepCity, and Khanyisani Kheswa, who starred on Black Brain's Vula Vala.
According to the show's creator Mandla N, Creative Director at Black Brain:
"We can’t wait for viewers to see how this new chapter delves deeper into the world of the Sokhulus as we explore new characters, new conflicts, and new challenges that will test their strength and resilience."
