breathed his last breath earlier this month.

Where one door closes, another opens, and it's opening for Rita du Plooy, who returns to Ruiterbosch after an absence of seven years.
IIlse Roos first appeared in the role in Seasons 1 and 2 and she's back this month, portraying Rita's conflicts.
Rita's spent years receiving treatment after being diagnosed with schizophrenia and now she's been "released" from the sanatorium where she's been living.
Tim isn't aware of this, until she arrives back, and it's going to be tough for her to reintegrate into daily life, especially because of how much Ruiterbosch has changed.

Illse: “For Rita it is a constant reminder of how much she missed, not only of her own life but that of Tim’s as well.
Tim is the apple of her eye and she missed many of his big moments in life, such as his wedding. This is gnawing at her.
Rita’s ex-husband, Chris, moved away. Many other well-known characters such as the late AB, are no longer to be seen in Ruiterbosch.
Despite all of this, Rita makes a few new friends. Elana becomes her best friend. But a few unsavoury characters will try to use Rita as a pawn for their own benefit.”
