Hey... look! - it's the Mummy himself...
How it started
How it's going
Arnold Vosloo's been in Hollywood for over 30 years and now he's tripping over the equator to slum it on local TV as the lead in kykNET's new crime drama Plan B, another series by Deon "M-Net" Meyer - an adaptation based on characters from Meyer's early books.
This isn't the first time that Arnold's igniting his inner Imhotep to ressurrect his South African acting career since his rise to international fame in the late 90s.
In 2016 he starred in another Deon Meyer series titled Cape Town, which wasn't an M-Net show oddly-enough, but a South African/German co-production on Universal TV.
And last year he played the eponymous role of Ludik in the Netfflix action series about a Jeckyll and Hyde diamond smuggler with a big wallet and even bigger problems in Pretoria East.
In Plan B he stars as art thief Paul Schmidt who steals a €30 million painting with his "former military" partner Ivan, portrayed by Sterlopers star Tim Theron.
They become involved with an art dealer and meet formerly wealthy Ragel Bergh (Amalia Uys) who's been swindled out of her inheritance by con artist Joshua Lansky (Armand Aucamp).
They band together - with Rrrragel, not Joshua - and embark on a five episode quest surrounding the painting, titled Vlammemeisie by Dutch painter Veneer.
Which
should actually be The Scream by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch considering The Mummy vibes:
Plan B premieres in 2024. Date unknown. We're waiting to hear when The Mummy Returns.
