Genre: Documentary Series, Adventure, Mystery
A limited docuseries that uncovers a doomed expedition through the Amazon led by a charismatic guide with unclear motives.
The series unfolds a stranger-than-fiction story of Mickey Grosman, a former special forces demolitions expert who took a group of amateur adventurers on a nearly impossible journey across South America.
Positioned as a charity trek for cancer awareness, participants were to be part of a 5,000-mile expedition across the continent through the deepest parts of the Amazon jungle.
Only one claims to have made it to the end... Mickey Grosman.
Expedition from Hell: The Lost Tapes uses the over 700 hours of archival footage shot from the trip to unfold a fascinating series of misfortunes and ineptitudes that quickly turned what was to be an already challenging expedition into a near constant struggle to survive.
Tracing the rise and fall (and fall again) of a doomed adventure involving kidnapping, prison escapes and a missing person, Expedition from Hell: The Lost Tapes uncovers new revelations that shock even those who were alongside Grosman during the ill-fated adventure.
In the series premiere, "It Just Keeps Getting Worse": Self-styled survivalist and demolition expert Mickey Grosman leads a team of amateur explorers deep into the Amazon on a chaotic, death-defying quest to cross the South American continent.
It'll be a miracle if anyone makes it out alive.
In the second episode of the premiere double-bill (single episodes thereafter), "It's Not Life or Death - Yet": Mickey fires one of the team's only experienced members before enlisting a local guide to lead them through a treacherous desert.
When the team gets lost and runs out of water, things spiral out of control, leaving one team member on the brink of death.

Death in Paradise
Channel: S3
TX Time: 21h00
Genre: Police Procedural, Drama, Comedy-Drama
Crime comedy-drama series which centres on strait-laced policeman Richard Poole, a detective from London's Metropolitan Police who is sent to the Caribbean island of Saint-Marie to solve the case of the death of a fellow British policeman and ends up becoming the local police force's new detective.
Death In Paradise is a fish-out-of-water story about a quintessential English cop posted to the Caribbean island of Saint-Marie.
To anyone else it would be paradise, but for Detective Inspector Richard Poole (Ben Miller) it's hell.
Totally unsuited to the Caribbean way of life, Richard hates the sun, sea and sand and isn't used to their style of policing.
But he is a brilliant detective whose first case on the island is investigating the murder of a British cop.
Working with the exotic local Camille (Sara Martins), each week Richard goes about solving an intricate and intriguing murder.
DI Richard Poole is played by Ben Miller – quintessentially English, blisteringly intelligent, with a unique approach, if only he didn't hate sun, sea and sand...
Camille Bordey is played by Sara Martins – sexy, instinctive and straight-talking, she's the perfect foil for Richard's genius.
Danny John-Jules plays Dwayne Myers – he may lack ambition, but he has complete faith in the chief and he really understands the criminal mind – perhaps a little too well.
Fidel Best is played by Gary Carr – young, keen and at times naïve, there's nothing he won't do for his friends – and his doggedness can prove vital in breaking a case.
Lenora Crichlow plays Lily Thomson – beautiful, warm, and calm in a crisis, Lily is the long-suffering rock at the heart of the Royal Saint-Marie Police force.
Commander Selwyn Patterson is played by Don Warrington – charming and unfailingly polite, Richard's boss shows he can bend the rules when it suits him... and that he has a terrible temper when riled.
The drama was filmed on location in Guadeloupe.
