Hang onto your heart strings because they're about to be ripped out of your chest by cuteness personified in a parcel of lurve.
National Geographic premieres a documentary titled Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story on Sunday 27 October at 18h00 and the trailer makes us emo for these reasons:
1. Molly the Otter's the sweetest little influencer - funny, photogenic and smart.
2. She's inspired us to want a T-shirt that reads:
I'm not a rotter,
I'm just an otter!
3. The concept of loneliness is at the heart of documentary and it reveals how this feeling and state of being is common to us all, no matter where we live or what sort of creature we are.
4. The music - they know just how.
Here's the synopsis and the trailer:
When a wild otter in desperate need of help washes up on his jetty in the remote Scottish islands of Shetland, Billy Mail, his wife Susan, and their devoted sheepdog Jade find themselves with a unique new member of their family.
When Molly first arrives at the Mail residence, Billy and Susan take it upon themselves to care for the ill otter, providing Billy with a new sense of purpose.
The documentary shows how the ability to love can reawaken us to the beauty of nature.
It's directed by photographer and filmmaker Charlie Hamilton James and produced by Jeff Wilson of Silverback Films (Life on Our Planet, Secret Lives of Orangutans).
