Coming up on Mzansi Magic's new series Cobrizi:
Presley Chweneyagae who reprises his role as Thuso "Cobra" Mokoena, one of the lead characters in all six seasons of The River.
Turns out this new series isn't a telenovela but a 13-part drama series so it will probably air weekly instead of daily when it starts in March.
Mzansi Magic haven't confirmed the dates and times for the majority of their
new titles so either they don't know them yet or they want everyone to be confused.
The story picks up with Cobra attempting to do right by his youngest child.
He wants to prove he isn't a loser.
He moves to inner-city Joziburg and finds love but things don't go as smoothly as a snake.
Cobra starts off as the same troubled, angry man we knew in The River - a survivor whose only way out has been through theft and hustling.
His anger burns at the failed social system that’s left him trapped in poverty, fuelling his belief in radical change.
He's still drawn to his beer, women and taverns but even a man like Cobra can evolve... if life gives him a fighting chance.
Returning with him are:
Thapelo Sebogodi as Cobra's bestie Kabzela and
Winnie Ntshaba as Zodwa.
And these are the new cast members:
Thembsie Matu as Ous Sheila,
Sivenathi Mabuya as Bongiwe,
Paul Maila as Rajah,
Ishmauel Songo as Peanut,
Chrispen Nyathi as Raisin,
Thobani Mbhele as Bangkok,
Moliehi Didie Makobane as Teresia,
Siphiwe Radebe as Simphiwe,
Kadia Banyini as Nkanyiso,
Xolani Mfeka as Bab' Dladla and
Charmaine Mncwabe as Ama.
It's produced by The River producers Tshedza Pictures.
