Welcome--or welcome back--to the Survivor Prediction League! We are back with another awesome season of the original awesome competition reality show. I, your humble host Lingo, am back once again to boggle your minds with diabolical questions. But this time around, I am joined by the ever-generous Fingolfin, who has graciously volunteered to carry out the more mundane chores of score-tallying and results-posting. Without him, I would end up posting the questions and results so late that this would become a memory game instead of a prediction game, if you catch my drift. So be nice to him, OK?
If you're new to the idea of a Prediction League, the concept is simple. This is where you get to prove to your friends and foes how good you are at predicting what's going to happen on Survivor: Guatemala. Every week, questions about the upcoming episode (or episodes) will be posted. You answer them. After the episode airs, the answers to the questions are posted, the predictions are scored, and we all have a good laugh about how much we rock and/or suck. Simple enough, right? Right.
As for the questions, almost every week you will predict who will win Reward and Immunity, who will be voted off, who else will get votes, and who your latest guess is for the Ultimate Winner. In addition, there will be bonus questions of various diabolical types.
What separates the TashiTagg Prediction League from other leagues you may find in SA is that I, the question-writer, am an American. (Please redirect your hate: I voted for Gore and Kerry.) Which means that I've already seen these episodes about 7 months ago. Which means that I can spice up the bonus questions with intriguing tidbits from the actual episodes. These tend to be contestant quotes that I find striking and/or amusing, but other types sometimes show up. These questions are designed not to spoil you, but to tease you, to arouse your curiosity about the upcoming episode. And to make the Prediction League a lot more fun (or stressful, if you're the type who takes games Way Too Seriously!).
Speaking of spoilers: you could, of course, find the answers to all the questions on some American website or other. (In fact, since I don't have the episodes on tape, I rely on such websites to write the questions.) But what fun would that be? All you'd be doing is spoiling everyone else's fun to boost your pitiful little ego. Please, don't be That Guy.
All clear? On with the game!
