Isidingo took a bit of a turn last week when Bra Fox let his testosterone levels get out of control. He’d had enough of Letti stringing him along and organised a small private party with some of his thug friends from Tembisa. The venue was Bra Fox’s hotel room and the main attraction was to be Letti as his very personal private singer.
Letti was not exactly willing and Fox had to use some force to get her decked out in a sexy little red number for what he thought would be an erotic cabaret. He’s a real brute and turns easily to waving his gun around at every opportunity. The scene was set for a drunken orgy with a very unwilling woman but Vusi is not a prophet for nothing.
He sensed that Letti might be in trouble and managed to get Slu and Georgie to give him Bra Fox’s address on the pretext that he wanted to go and apologise to him for the little incident that took place at Papa G’s place.
His timing was impeccable and he arrived just as Bra Fox was getting hot and heavy. He’d already told his mates that the party was over, much to their surprise. They were just getting cozy with the free booze and ready for some erotic action. Letti was in a most compromising position when Vusi burst in and made like a prophet with a punch. He’d decked Fox twice before Papa G and Slu came hurtling in to stop the drama.
The result? One very angry gangster with revenge on his mind.
Letti has moved back home to a more understanding family although Parsons is extremely pissed off at her. He simply cannot understand what’s been going on in her head.
Fox has showed up at the Matabane house, at the Bullers, at the Rec Club and finally at the offices of the mine to hunt Vusi down. He has a standard phrase; “Tell Vusi that the Fox was here and when I catch him, I will shoot him down like a dog.”
He scared at least five years of life out of Maggie who panics for the least thing and wiped the smile right off Stella’s face when he told her that if she was lying to him about Vusi not being in he’d cut one of her ears off. Methinks she’d hear just as much gossip with only one ear, but her earrings would look kinda funny wouldn’t they?
Clearly the Fox is not going to go away and the question is will the prophet be able to pull off another miracle?
Kimberly, Barker’s ex Public Relations Officer, and former bed bunny has made an appearance looking decidedly “swell.” She is very pregnant with Barker’s son and is keen on having Barker take up his financial responsibilities. He of course, treated her like trash and said “she could be carrying anyone’s bastard.” Kimi quickly hotfooted it to Lee’s office and broke the news to her about her soon-to-be-sibling. Lee while not entirely convinced decided to use this tacky bit of dirt to influence her mother not to marry Barker, but Anthea was appalled at her. She accused her of not wanting to see her mother “happy and fulfilled.”
We all know that Barker is manipulating the situation but he must be one hell of a charmer with hidden talents from the way Anthea is smitten by him. And his florist must be ready to retire rich with all the flowers that Barker is heaping on her. He pitched up in the brightest orange sweater last night, complete with flowers that faded into the background because of the violent tone of his jersey. Much to Lee’s disgust Barker is already referring to Anthea as “his wife” and declaring that they are deeply in love with each other.
At last there has been some focus back on some of the other characters. Cherel has pitched a new idea for her show which entails getting women to confess on television that their husbands are cheating on them and then for the cheaters to be followed, filmed and brought onto Cherel’s show to face the music.
It’s like South Africa’s own version of the Jerry Springer show, but with the potential to be more volatile, since you have Cherel hosting the show and the cheater being shown footage of his meanderings with his wife there. Trashy TV at best and this is Rajesh’s main concern. But Frank, while having reservations about Cherel being able to handle the show effectively has promised sky high Audience Ratings (AR’s). Surprisingly Lee has agreed to have a “Cheaters’ show aired, but has put some pressure on Cherel saying that she wants it within a week.
I feel desperately sorry for Paul who is the producer and now also a researcher for Cherel’s show. Like he says it’s not exactly easy to find a woman who is willing and keen to go on national television to spill her guts about her husband being unfaithful to her and then have him confronted by the evidence on live TV. He obviously hates working with Cherel and has indicated that it would be preferable to be hung upside down over a pit of snakes that to be involved with her and her ideas.
I quite like Paul’s sense of humour and also that he makes no effort to hide his dislike of Cherel and her harebrained schemes. Lee overheard him and looked very smug. I think she is plotting and scheming. Could it possibly Barker and Kimberly and their trashy affair...?
So, has Isidingo picked up for you during the past week?
Is your interest perked and what do you think might happen in the coming days? Will Fox get Vusi? Or will Letti get Vusi? Is Kimberly back to stay? Or will Barker make sure to get her out of the way?
