Groundbreaking television website TVSA recorded phenomenal first-month statistics, proving the theory that South African couch potatoes have been crying out for a single television resource.
More than 400 people registered as members of TVSA in its first month, May, and the site recorded more than a quarter of a million page views in the first 31 days of its existence.
"We are overwhelmed by the response to TVSA from readers, the media and the television industry," said Luke Tagg, co-owner and editor of TVSA. "We know South Africans love their TV but this is ridiculous!"
Tagg further explains the aims of TVSA: "The purpose of TVSA is essentially threefold: to provide a 'TV Companion' to viewers of shows on South African television so that they can discuss and find out more about the shows they are watching; to publish television-related information which keeps viewers up to date with any and all TV-related developments; and to provide an invaluable resource to the various TV channels and related industries for keeping track of public opinion about their fare.
"The statistics recorded for TVSA in its first month are a clear reflection that TVSA can indeed live up to its tagline: The South African Television Authority."

These figures were achieved with zero adspend budget - aside from the rapidly-spreading word of mouth, the only marketing campaign for the site is on pop culture website
TashiTagg.com (TT), thereby proving TT's effectiveness in delivering customers for client campaigns.
Both TVSA and TT are owned and operated by TashiTagg Entertainment, one of the most powerful online entertainment brands in South Africa.
