Multi-talented Yinka was the second to be evicted from the Big Brother Nigeria House but that did not stop him from utilizing the exposure to his benefit. Soon after he left the house, his Hip Hop track was played in the house and the housemates went mad with excitement!!
This rapper/writer took time off his hectic SA trip schedule to chat about being single and his plans after BBN.
Brown Shuga: Hey Yinka, what have you been up to since you got out of the house?
Yinka: Besides, travelling up and down and meeting people, I've been making contacts to get my album out before the end of the year. I've also been getting jobs that will make me relevant to the entertainment industry e.g. Being the master of ceremonies or hopefully being the Brand face of some company…
BS: And how far are you with recording the album?
Yinka: I last recorded songs last year and this year I was featured on Rugged Man's song.Other than that I have not had time to
BS: How is the book that you're writing coming along, we've been hearing so much about it. What is it about?
Yinka: If I had a laptop, I would have been finished with the book, but with the traveling that we have been doing, there hasn't been much time for me to finish it. The book is a thriller & partly fun.
BS: The housemates were taken to Club Uhuru in SA, how did you find that experience?
Yinka: The Clubbing was nice, I was impressed with the crowd and their reaction to Hip Hop, I thought South Africans were only into Kwaito.
BS: But we do have Hip Hop artists in SA..Do you know any kwaito artists?
Yinka: I know Arthur, the guy who sings Mnike Mnike Mnike, is it Arthur??
BS: Ooh..it is Arthur but damn man, that song is so yesterday!
Yinka: Yeah, I was just giving you an example...
BS: If you were to describe SA in one word, what would that be?
Yinka: I would like to use two words, Hospitable & Orderly.
BS: That's great, thank you!! What do you think of South African women? Would you marry from outside Nigeria?
Yinka: You are being naughty now...well South African women are lovely and yes I would marry outside Nigeria because I've always been open, it wouldn't matter where the person is from.
BS: What would you say has been the high point of your trip to South Africa?
Yinka :Meeting a certain lady…
BS: Mmmhh...And the low point??
Yinka: No lows really except the fact that I didn't stay as long as I would have liked to and also that I could not go on all the rides at Gold Reef City, because I am so tall!!! I only managed to go on one ride....
BS: Shame man!!! So tell us then, you were single when you went in the house, has anything changed?
Yinka: I am still single because I haven't found the ONE. Also with the travelling we have been doing, I haven't had much time to myself or to look around
BS: Oh, don't worry, you will find your one...So regarding your trip to SA. On what date exactly were you guys originally supposed to go back to Nigeria??
Yinka: Friday, 30 June. .
BS: So there was no drama with the dates being changed by the organizers?
Yinka: There was no drama.
BS: Is that the official story
Yinka: Yes, that's the official story.
BS: Ok so tell me, what do you think of JFC?
Yinka: Are you also JFC?
BS: Yinka, I'm the one who should be asking questions...what do you think of JFC?
Yinka: I don't really have an opinion on them…I just think it's nice to know that people can rally around one person like that. I hope they can do more of that positive stuff for homeless and old people.
BS: Are you close to any of your fellow housemates?
Yinka: Yeah, I 'm close to all of them.
BS: After you left the house, you said the housemates nominated you because they saw you as a threat…do you still believe this was the case??
Yinka : Yes I still do, I wouldn't have said if I didn't believe it.
BS: So, why did Mudiaga come with the Housemates to SA? Anything to do with Katung?
Yinka: Ohhhh gossip, he did not come with us. He came here because he had some business to take care of here, it had nothing to do with us. He came on his own.
BS: I'll take your word for it Yinka. The relationships in the house, are any of them still on? (Ebuka/Helen – Mau/Giddy)
Yinka: Ebuka and Helen never had a relationship in the house, I don't know if there is relationships between them..so you're gonna have to ask them.
BS: Eish, you are so being careful of what you say, what about Giddy & Maureen then?
Yinka, They openly had a relationship in the house and they still care for one another.
BS: So I guess I shouldn't ask about Ify and Katung as she has a boyfriend?
Yinka: Yeah.
BS: So what other visits are planned for the housemates?
Yinka: We're going to Ghana on Saturday, 01 July and London sometime in August…I'm not sure of the date yet.
BS: That sounds great, so what do you think of Katung as the winner?
Yinka: The person with the most votes won, that's all.
BS: Is that all you think?
Yinka: Yeah, the person with the most votes won. I didn't know Katung before he went in the house so that's all.
BS: Ok Yinka we gotta do a bit of celeb Q & A, TVSA style.
Who was your favourite, Biggie Small or 2Pac?
Yinka: They were both exceptional rappers. I liked Biggie when he was alive and I liked Tupac after he died…
BS: I feel you there...I also fell in love with 2Pac after he died!!
Yinka : It's because there was all this hype created about him and his death. Wherever you went in Nigeria, there would be 2Pac posters, Tshirts and everything you could think of…
BS: If given a chance, would you have loved to date Aaliyah or Left Eye?
Yinka: Mmmhh dead people? Well I actually had a crush on both of them..Left Eye was wild though, she once burnt down her boyfriend's house and she was crazy. So for those reasons, it'd have to be Aaliyah, but also because she did belly dancing…
BS: And the one thing that you can't live without?
Yinka : My Freedom
BS : What inspires you?
Yinka : God, Positive people and nature…
BS: Anything else that you want to tell us about yourself that we don't already know??
Yinka: I am Pisces so I think a lot, I love to dance sometimes and I am SINGLE AND STILL SEARCHING
BS: Yeah Yinka, we heard that one loud and clear...Thank you for your time though and have a safe trip back home tomorrow.
Yinka: My pleasure.
