SHOW: Head Wrap
|
Channel: SABC1 |
Season: 1 |
Time: 18h30 |
Replaced by: Head Wrap (2) |
It's a Head Wrap wrap. After 12 weeks of journeying through the South African cultural and artistic landscape Head Wrap slows down to reflect on the people we've met and the creative relationships that have been forged.
In this episode viewers are shown how the philosophy of the show to bridge differences through creative collaborations was made a reality.
Each 24-minute episode focused on two characters from the South African cultural or artistic landscape that had opposing realities or different points of view.
These characters were brave enough to bridge the cultural divides and to challenge their own pre-conceptions.

SHOW: The Outer Limits
|
Channel: M-Net Series |
Season: 1 |
Time: 19h00 |
Replaced by: The Outer Limits (2) |
In the season finale tonight, entitled The Voice Of Reason:
Randal Strong, a civilian with powerful ties to the military, is able to summon a high level meeting at the Pentagon. His mission is to convince the US Military Chiefs that aliens from other pllanets pose a very dangerous and imminent threat to the human race.
He cites numerous examples, including Simon Kress' Sandkings experiment gone awry and the destruction by an astronaut of a Mars mission in its final stage, because of an alien presence on the spacecraft.
The meeting continues into the night, punctuated by very explicit examples of alien invasion, on videotape, and Committe Chaiman Thornwell seems to be Strong's biggest stumbling block.
So when, after much deliberation, the Committee votes not to act on Strong's request, the civilian is horrified at the result, and suspecting that Thornwell may be an alien in disguise, he shoots him.
Although Strong's instincts were correct, and there were aliens in the meeting, Thornwell was not one of them. As Strong is led away by guards, he realises he must continue his fight to protect the Earth from alien beings.
