Super Sexy! He is the reason why some girls stayed glued to their screens! He sings like an angel, is arguably one of the sexiest men ever seen on reality TV and he is oh! so! yummy!!
He upset some viewers by peeing on the garden, some called him 'disrespectful" some called him romantic, but hey, the competition is over and as those who know him will attest, he has risen from zero to hero in just 50 days!!
I was lucky enough to chat to humble Giddy, the 6th Housemate to leave the BBN house. Here is the magic that came out of those gorgeous looking lips:
BS: Hey Soul Child!! How are you doing babes???
Gideon: Fine thanks, How are you? BS: I’m cool, cool, you know I’ve been wondering what the best way to start this interview would be!! Ok, let’s start here: You are one of the SEXIEST men I have ever seen, you sing like an Angel, You are smart, educated and you’re a romantic…Do you know how many women dream to have a man with just half those qualities???
Gideon: (Laughing) Ouch…thank you, thank you, there may be quite a few though...… BS: I must ask you this: PLEASE, for the duration of this interview, please don't use any of those big words you used in the diary room…I don't have a dictionary nearby, what was up with that??
Gideon: That’s just the way I am… When I was a kid my father used to tell me “Don’t just laugh at the white man’s jokes. You have to learn his language and how you should use it.” Instead of toys I had newspapers to play with.
BS: So that’s would explain why you and Ify sound the same??
Gideon: No man but it’s because people appear different, I may not have gone to the best schools but I learnt how to make the best of myself.
BS: Before you went into the house you said that your wish was to visit SA and the Bahamas. You experienced SA, so when do you do the BAHAMAS?
Gideon: there’s still the UK to do in August so I think maybe Christmas would be a perfect time to do the Bahamas!
BS: What did you enjoy most about your trip to SA?
Gideon: The place is really excellent! It was beyond my expectation. Everybody had told me about how beautiful SA is but it blew me away. It was amazing to see how far ahead SA is. In all modesty, Nigeria is so far behind in terms of development and I really wish that my country would get to where SA is the next 5 years or even in my Generation. We are coming back though…
BS: Oh! That is so humbling!!! You are coming back? Who’s “we”
Gideon: We are making plans to come back for the Nokia Face of Africa: it’s a couple of housemates, specifically me, Katung and Ebuka! I’m also thinking of relocating there.
BS: Relocate? Are there any offers we don’t know of?
Gideon: Well I’ll be coming there to look for jobs! I understand there are better opportunities in modelling there and I went around to a couple of agencies to drop off my portfolio and they are quite experienced!
BS: Ha! Giddy you don’t waste time!
Gideon: Of course not....it was business but I came for business too!
BS: After you left the house you were asked who your least favourite housemate was and you said you did not wanna defame anyone or influence votings. There are no votings to influence now and the competition is over. Who WAS your least favourite DURING the competition…we know you lover her/him now.
Gideon: Well back at the house it was Joan, I never made a secret of that though. Even she had issues with me back then.
BS: I thought it was Franca?
Gideon: No, it wasn’t her. BS: Do you still wear the ring Ify gave you?
GIdeon: No BS: Why did she give you a ring in the first place?
Gideon: She’s into jewellery and I saw it, liked it and she said I could have it. I could only fit it on my wedding ring finger so that’s why.
BS: By the time I started watching the show, you already had the ring on and I was like, what! He is married!!??
Gideon: No, I’m very much single…. BS: Oh Yeah? We’ll talk about that just now…How is your relationship with Ify now coz you two were behaving like siblings with your constant fights?
Gideon: We are very good friends actually. She comes to my place sometimes and I also visit her at times.
BS: So when was the last time you kissed Maureen?
Gideon: (Laughs)…come on now…do I have to answer that? 
BS: Yes Giddy you have to…
Gideon: Can’t you just ask “when was the last time I kissed someone??”
Ok I last kissed Maureen last week and that’s because she hasn’t been around.
BS: How is the relationship going? Still hot?
Gideon: Ok, let me explain something so that the whole world can understand.
Maureen and I are very good friends. We were confined in the house and our relationship was undefined. It was very circumstantial and now we are out of the house and have the opportunity to start things from scratch under normal circumstances.
What we had in the house did not mean that we were good together, though we did look good together.
She is a very lovely lady and I have never seen a woman who believes in a man like that!
Right now we are just trying to understand where the relationship is going because in the house we were all over each other and the relationship was undefined like I said. We are also trying to understand who we are so that we can appreciate ourselves and each other more. A relationship shouldn’t be about sex, kissing and cuddling, we have to understand the true sense of who we are.
BS: Wow, you two must be really good friends to be kissing and all…I can think of a few people who will be upset by this.
Gideon: Yeah I’m sure there will be. Our relationship is under a lot of pressure because everybody is watching but at the end of the day, we are the ones in the relationship. I love her but sometimes she needs a breather or I need a breather and that’s being realistic.
Actually she’s in the house right now, do you wanna say hi?
BS: Yeah, I’ll say hi but after the interview. First you have to tell me, now that the game is over, will you finally admit that the reason you kept nominating Joseph week in and week out was because of the Maureen Issue?
Gideon: No, honestly no! It was because we did not connect at all. He was not a guys’ guy and we just didn’t connect. Besides, that was a popularity contest and he never came alive. He is a jolly good fellow and all but he never came alive at all.
BS: Are you guys still not connecting?
Gideon: Not really, we get together when we have to be together. He is still exclusive and laid back. BS: Ok, we all know what your kinda guys are like…the 3 musketeers!! How’s Ebuka doing?
Gideon: He’s doing well... 
BS: How has life after Big Brother been?
Gideon: Life has been really good. Besides the fame, I have also been presented with a lot of opportunities. You know like the gind of love you receive when you meet people on the streets, it’s really been great. Big Brother has really presented me with a wonderful platform.
BS: Would you do it again if given the opportunity?
Gideon: No ways! I spent 50 days in the house and those were the most gruelling days of my life. I appreciate everything that BBN has brought me but go back to the house? No!
BS: I heard that modelling offers are also pouring in?
Gideon: Well, I have an endorsement deal with MTS First Wireless, a telecommunications company who have chosen me as a brand icon/spokesperson.
BS: What exactly do you have to do when you’re a brand Icon or spokesperson?
Gideon: I have to make appearances at functions, I will be on billboards, TV and radio and just be on anything they use to promote the brand. I will also be visiting schools and universities all around the different states in Nigeria.
BS: I’m sure all of that comes with big bucks too hey?
Gideon: Aah well, all I can say is that it’s a 1 year contract.
BS: How is the music career coming along?
Gideon: I’ve released a single so far and I have a recording deal with Storm Records. I am busy working on the album; it will probably be ready towards the end of the year or in the first quarter of next year.
I just want to mention that Zamajobe is soooo talented and I love her a lot. I would love to do some work with her. Whenever she sings I get goosebumps!! BS: Oh! That’s nice, hopefully she’ll read this. So what’s an average day in Gideon’s life like?
Gideon: If I have to be at the office, I go to work in the mornings, if not just drive around or chill at home and watch movies.
My place is very quiet during the day but in the evenings it’s like we’re having a party every night!! There are always people in the house.
BS: Do you think your fellow housemates are making full use of their celebrity status?
Gideon: On their own part they’re trying but it’s more difficult than we expected. I’m the only one who’s really prominent.
Things are not really looking as we thought and apart from Katung winning; I am the only one who has something concrete.
I think there’d be more opportunities in SA. I mean we were heroes of Naija on TV but I don’t know why things are not happening or there are no companies coming forth. The housemates are trying to create opportunities for themselves though.
BS: Anyone in particular who has impressed you about utilizing the opportunities?
Gideon: No one really…well maybe JFC. They’re really trying to project Joe well. I’ve seen them doing more projects, they are very serious.
I’ve seen them holding meetings around here and I’m really impressed with Joe’s performance. The JFC guys are doing great! BS: A compliment to JFC, coming from you!! Wow, they’ll be happy to hear that.
Gideon: Really, they’re doing a good job. BS: What is the best thing about being Gideon right now?
Gideon: My game has stepped up. People see me in a better light now, there’s a lot of contrast between who I am and where I come from. Something good came out of where I’m from.
BS: What music are you listening to at the moment?
Gideon: My all time favourites: India Arie and Musiq Soulchild
BS: What movies have you seen lately?
Gideon: I saw Superman Returns and I was very disappointed because it did not live up to the hype. BS: Do you have a favourite quote from a song?
Gideon: My favourite song of all time is by Peabo Bryson – Suddenly (He starts singing and you know how excited "Shuga" gets)BS: Any message to your fans in South Africa?
Gideon: The women in South Africa are BEAUTIFUL and DELICTABLE!
They made my jaw drop all the time. Really there are beautiful people in South Africa. To my fans I just want to say “keep your heads up and think positive thoughts. Be the best that you can be, you can’t be better than anyone else but you can be better than yourself. BS: Wow!! Thank you so much for talking to me and I really appreciate your honesty!!
