I had the pleasure of chatting to the gorgeous lawyer of Big Brother Nigeria and as you will find out when reading this, we had lots of fun!!
A friend of mine was worried about whether he would open up but I couldn't have asked for anything better from this cute man....
According to me, the most BEAUTIFUL man in the BBN house and he is my Nigerian version of Michael Scofield (Prison Break).
This is how the interview went down....

BS: Hey Bubu, how’s Nigeria tonight? Any stalkers lurking around?
Ebuka: (Laughs) Not really, I’ve just been taking pictures with a couple of girls that asked for pics….

BS: Besides the fact that the stalking in the house made you uncomfortable, be honest man and admit that at times it did a bit of good for your self esteem?
Ebuka: (Laughs) Yeah, I’ve always experienced things like that. But it was more difficult to deal with that one because we had to live in the same house for a long time. I must admit though, at times it did feel good!!!

Bubu lap dance

BS: What is your gorgeous looking brother doing in SA?
Ebuka: My brother? I don’t have a brother in SA.

BS: He’s not your brother? Damn, I’ve been sending his picture all over and telling people he’s your brother, how gorgeous looking you two are!! He looks like you though!
Ebuka: He’s not my brother but my cousin.

BS: What’s he doing in SA?
Ebuka: He’s working there, actually owns an electronics shop.

BS: What did he tell you about South African women? Somebody once told me that Nigerian men living in SA consider the women here to be cheap?
Ebuka: Well, the girls there are really fly. Do they call them cheap? Well it could be because here in Nigeria it’s a lot more difficult for a girl to walk up to a man and tell him they like him, less so in SA. That might be one of the reasons if that’s what they think. I like SA girls.

BS: Well, they like you too.

Having seen South Africa, do you think we are ready to host the 2010 World Cup?
Ebuka: Honestly, I think to an extent yes, the only thing I am not sure about is the public transportation. That is the biggest issue with staging the world cup. I think the infrastructure is good and I don’t really know much about SA but I think the transport is the only concern at this stage.

BS: Did you share a room with Helen while here?
Ebuka: (Laughs) No, I didn’t …Why are you asking me that?? (Laughs)

BS: Well, there are no restrictions here; I ask whatever I want to know…now please answer?
Ebuka: Well, when we stayed in 3 different hotels and in one of those, I did share with her.

BS: So you two are still an item?
Ebuka: No

BS: So why did you share a hotel room??
Ebuka: We are still working on things. After we left the house there was a lot of media hype and people wanting to know what’s next, it was all putting pressure on us. I mean when we were in the house, there wasn’t enough time for us to tell whether or not we’re compatible (sounds familiar…didn’t Giddy say the same?)

BS: But Ebuka you left the house more than a month or two ago, you still haven’t figured out whether or not it would work?
Ebuka: (Laughs) We’ve been so so busy since then…We haven’t had time just to be together.

BS: Did Franca confront you about the stolen kiss in the kitchen?
Ebuka: She hasn’t. I’m actually surprised!

BS: Maybe she has given up.
Ebuka: I’m not sure about that.

BS: So what exactly was your “beef” with Joseph in the house?
Ebuka: (Laughs) Before I got into the house, I had watched previous Big Brother shows and as far as I could tell, it was about entertainment. The viewers watched how entertaining housemates were and back then I didn’t see Joseph as someone that the viewers enjoyed watching.
He was quiet, couldn’t relate to us and was pretty much on his own. I nominated him because I was not as close to him as I was with the other housemates

Coming out of the house now, I respect him a lot, I believe he is someone that a person can learn a lot from and I really think that he deserves the number of fans that he has.

BS: And did you finally get used to Ify’s accent, coz you also had a problem with that?
Ebuka: In Ify’s case, I had an issue with the fact that someone can have an accent belonging to a certain place, without having been where the accent is from. I still don’t understand it. I mean how can I have a South African accent without once having been to South Africa?
But she did explain to us and she was trying to be different, if we were all the same, the show would have been boring. If a person can do it, just to be different then, why not?! Initially I had a problem with it but now it’s fine by me. Everybody’s different and we all act differently.

BS: Do you ever think that: if Katung had never gone into the house, you probably would have won?
Ebuka: (Laughs) You mean IF JOSEPH had not gone into the house!! Those people took me out!!!

BS: Ha ha ha shame…yes, you were nominated against him!!!!
Ebuka: I saw Katung during the auditions and even then, he had an aura around him like he knew he was going into the house. But then again he was a friend.
Honestly I went into the house to win but I think the problem was that I became too popular, too early. People were telling me that when the show started, it was all “Ebuka, Ebuka”. Also the fact that I was not nominated for about four weeks might have made the viewers to decide that “let’s take him out”. Bottom line, I think the fact that I was too popular very early in the show, may have worked against me.

BS: What’s been happening to you since you left the house coz I hear you’re turning down movie roles?
Ebuka: Yes I’ve been getting offers for movie roles but nothing exciting enough for me to do.

BS: You mean something Oscar worthy?
Ebuka (Laughs) Yes, something like that! If I get a good script I might just do it but so far I haven’t seen the right role. Other than that I am trying to get into TV & Radio Presenting and I will definitely go back to law later on. I haven’t had time to actually settle down on one thing with all the travelling we’ve been doing in Nigeria and outside. I mean every weekend we’re basically in a different area…

BS: Have you had any law firms offering you jobs?
Ebuka: Actually yes, about 3 of them.

BS: How smart of them!! Obviously they just wanted to use your fame to attract clients.
Ebuka: Yes, I guess so, it would make sense.

BS: Yeah, if I may throw in my 2 cents’ worth, I also don’t think you should go back to law now, maybe later on. Right now you should be making your BBN exposure work for you to do something you wouldn’t normally have had a chance to do.
Ebuka: That’s exactly what I’m trying to do. I will go back to law, just not now.

BS: Is there anything that you wish you had done differently in the House?
Ebuka: The only thing I kinda regret is that I was too popular, too early like I said but that was just me being me. I think what I would do differently is be more strategic with my nominations.

BS: What has been the best thing to come out of your participation in BBN? Besides the fame.
Ebuka: A lot of good things came out of came out of it but I think meeting was probably the best. I’ve had people inviting me over to their houses, offering me things for free. The experience has opened doors for me and it has really been humbling because I ask myself: “ What did I d?”, all I did was to be myself.
Meeting the right people, politicians, and musicians has been great!

BS: Yeah, meeting everybody but me!! I am still upset that I met all the housemates but you!!!!
Ebuka: Oh!! I’m sorry about that!

BS: Now my brother, the drinking…have you been attending your AA meetings?
Ebuka: (Laughs) I am not a drunk!! Truth is Guinness just happened to be a brand I enjoyed and there wasn’t much happening in the house so out of boredom, I resorted to drinking. I don’t drink a lot.

BS: Yeah, you resorted to drinking and kissing all the girls in the house except Ify!!!
Ebuka: (Laughs) Actually, I kissed Ify too!!!

BS: I bet if Ichemeta had stayed longer in the house, you’d probably have kissed her too!!
Ebuka: (He is laughing non stop and I’m imagining him laughing at the baked Alaska, remember that?)

BS: Would you like to comment on the rumours that Frank and Sandy are dating?
Ebuka: (Still laughing) I know nothing about that!

BS: Would you tell me if you knew? (Stupid question, now that I think about it)
Ebuka: Yes I would but honestly, I don’t know anything about it.

BS: Ok since you and Helen are STILL on the discovery channel, What qualities do you look for in a woman?
Ebuka: I’m a proper African man so she has to be dark, we have to be able to connect when having a conversation, she must be able to get a conversation going. I am a bit tall so she must not be short, she must have a sense of humour and be intelligent.

BS: Ok, that’s not such a difficult profile, I’m sure you have the right fit somewhere in the continent.

BS: Do you consider yourself romantic?
Ebuka: I can’t really judge. I also don’t fall in love easily, it takes time for me to fall in love but I guess I can say when I’m in love I am a romantic.

BS: What do you do to unwind? … (As an after thought….I say) besides drink Guinness?
Ebuka: (Laughs) Damn, I was going to say that! Well I watch a lot of television, mostly football.

BS: So what team were you supporting in the World Cup?
Ebuka: Portugal. I also like bowling and playing basketball.

BS: Did you watch Da Vinci Code, the movie? I heard you enjoyed the book.
Ebuka: I saw the movie but I was disappointed. The book is 20 times better than the movie…I really did not like it. If it weren’t for the hype created by the book, the movie would have been a bigger flop.

BS: I read the book and did not see the movie; I don’t want to be disappointed either. So what music are you listening to at the moment?
Ebuka: I’m enjoying Nigerian music at the moment, even Gideon’s single is rocking.

BS: Channel O has been feeding us a lot of Nigerian music so I’m also kinda listening to it..
Ebuka: Are you enjoying it though?

BS: Actually I am…it all started with you guys in the house, I mean I used to sing along so “Imagine that” as well.
Ebuka: Yeah that song is good. In South Africa I’m enjoying Malaika and Bongo Maffin, but I don’t know where Bongo Maffin is..

BS: They are also quite hot on the music scene; they released their album a couple of months ago.
Ebuka: Oh!! And Freshly Ground!!!! Whenever those groups come on…

BS: Yeah Freshly Ground is hot, I was just disappointed in the South African Music Awards, they were only nominated for Best Video. Bongo Maffin released an album just before the awards but they were nominated ahead of Freshly Ground, even though Freshly Ground were the hottest group in 2005!!
Ebuka: How come??

BS: I have no idea, politics. Anyway carry on??
Ebuka: Ok, internationally, I like Kanye West, I used to love Luther Vandross when he was alive and of course Akon.

BS: Kanye was in SA a few weeks ago! Yeah, we have to show Akon some love because he is African. But I swear, if I hear that song “Lonely” one more time, I’m gonna go mad!!! It became a hit so much that it was even irritating…Was it big in Nigeria too?
Ebuka: It was and still is!!!
BS: God help us!!

BS: Did any of the guys I interviewed tell you about the website?
Ebuka: I asked Katung after I spoke to you yesterday and he told me about it but I haven’t had a chance to visit yet.

BS: Ok, at the moment I have BBN Awards going…I have sent out a list of categories and asked people to vote for the winners. I’m gonna read out the list to you and I want you to please tell me what categories you think you’re gonna win. Ok?
Ebuka: Ok, let’s hear!

BS: Best on screen Kiss
Ebuka: I definitely won’t win this one
BS: Well, the kiss in the kitchen came up a couple of times, Sexiest Male housemate
Ebuka: I don’t have enough muscles for this one
BS: Sexiest female housemate
Ebuka: Mhhh
BS: Most boring housemate
Ebuka: (Laughs)
BS: Most Irritating Housemate
Ebuka: (Laughs)
BS: Cutest Couple, Most Romantic Couple, Best Smile
Ebuka: Maybe this one?
BS:  Yes, you also came up a lot of times on this one! Best Task, Best Villain
Ebuka: Oh no!! (Laughs)
BS: Most Stylish Male
Ebuka: I don’t know, often ran out of clothes in the house but I tried
BS: Most Stylish Female, Most Creative/Talented Housemate, Pretender/Fake of the Year
Ebuka: Oh my goodness!!
BS: Yeah, this is my favourite!! Best Song, ok This could have been either a song played in the house or one composed in the house. Then we have Best Dancer & Best Singer

Ebuka: I can’t wait to see the results!!!

BS: Ebuka, thank you very much for being a good spot. I really enjoyed chatting to you.
Ebuka: Thanks to you too!! I had fun. Take care..
