Bio
Lynne McCarthy is a South African actress and model who has played roles in the television soapies Egoli (M-Net) and Isidingo (SABC3).
After pursuing a BSc science degree in Psychology, McCarthy studied under Libbe Ferreira and the late Blaise Koch at Sesani Studios in Johannesburg and studied voice coaching and acting with Johan van der Merwe at Katinka Heyns’ Sonneblom Studios in Honeydew.
She later trained under W. Morgan Sheppard at the Vincent Chase Workshop in Hollywood. She has also studied Psychology, Public Relations and Marketing, and Channel Management with Software Business Management.
In television, McCarthy played the role of Zita in the M-Net soapie Egoli: Place of Gold and the role of Elize in Isidingo, in 2008.
She was also a co-presenter of the travel show Traveling Africa in Los Angeles, California, and was co-presenter of her own talk radio show on Radio Rippel in Pretoria.
She is also the presenter, journalist and narrator of a documentary called Children of Fire.
In addition to acting and presenting, McCarthy was a celebrity and A-list events columnist for Citigaming in The Citizen newspaper, and a columnist for FHM magazine, under the pseudonym MissHouston.
She is also a model and is represented by Stark Raving Management.
McCarthy is fluent in English and Afrikaans, and speaks broken Greek. She currently resides in Johannesburg.
